We are launching our Nature Strategy Accelerator Programme for 2027 with a call-out for new member applications.

The four-track Nature Accelerator programme supports organisations to turn risk to resilience by understanding their relationship with biodiversity, assessing nature-related impacts and dependencies, and integrating nature into decision-making.

Our Action Track is now open, co-delivered by our Business Programme Lead Caroline Cawley, with our Technical & Research Lead Dr Emer Ní Dhúill and our colleagues at Deloitte Ireland WorldClimate – and we are delighted to announce Ornua, one of Ireland’s leading agri-food cooperatives, as our newest member, as they prepare to work with us and fellow businesses to advance progress and develop their leadership  in this sector.

As usual, the free foundational Discovery Track of the Nature Strategy Accelerator programme is open to all Irish organisations to swiftly boost knowledge of biodiversity as it relates to business – with newsletters, webinars and online resources – just sign up online. We have now also opened applications for select businesses to join Ornua and Co for a series of in-person workshops, expert one-to-one guidance and curated resources, alongside a cross-sectoral community of peers to share learnings while developing your biodiversity strategy and leading the way to a nature-positive economy for Ireland.

Businesses working through the programme to date include ESB, Glenveagh Properties plc, Gas Networks Ireland, SAP Landscapes and Trinity College Dublin, who have progressed to the Evolution Track and are developing implementation plans for nature actions. We are thrilled to announce the opening of memberships for our 2026 Action and Strategy Accelerator Tracks!

Starting in the summer of 2025, we will welcome new members to these cohorts of Irish businesses who are advancing along our Nature Strategy Accelerator Programme – providing a unique opportunity to evaluate your organisation’s readiness for a Double Materiality Assessment (on the Action Track) or to level up to craft a comprehensive Nature Strategy (Strategy Track).

New members will engage in a personalised assessment meeting with the BFBI team, receiving tailored guidance to bridge knowledge gaps and initiate impactful actions within your business.

In 2026, each track will feature three immersive full-day workshops, in collaboration with Deloitte‘s WorldClimate (Action) & KPMG Sustainable Futures (Strategy) Teams, and further personalised one-on-one calls as needed. Together, we’ll tackle key milestones, allowing each business to progress at a pace that aligns with their unique capacity and timelines.

BFBI is supported by National Parks & Wildlife Services.
