Starting point: The Discovery Track.

The Discovery Track is the first step to the Nature Strategy Accelerator Programme and is all about broadening your understanding of the biodiversity crisis and the context of your business or sector.

The free online module introduces you to the concepts behind the ACT-D framework, a logical approach to assessing your nature-related issues and creating a nature strategy. This aligns with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

We will also cover other relevant themes via 10 handy self-paced lessons – how to make the business case for nature in your organisation and emerging biodiversity topics and policies as they relate to Irish business. You can access a library of Resources and a series of Webinars. You can stay on the Discovery Track for as long as you need to build your foundational knowledge and there will be no fee.

Once you level up from the Discovery Track, an annual fee will be applicable. Fees for tracks 2,3 and 4 are aligned with grants available from Enterprise Ireland and more. Fees are paid annually and grant-writing support is available. The annual fee is the same, regardless of the track (2, 3 or 4) that you sit in and you can move through these tracks at your own pace. For progression along our paid tracks, get in touch with us at manager@businessforbiodiversity.ie – we’ll conduct a quick readiness assessment to determine which is the most appropriate track for you to join.

Annual Turnover / Annual Membership fee:

  • Up to €15 million
  • €1,800 + VAT
  • €15 million – €50 million
  • €5,000 + VAT
  • Over €50 million
  • €10,000 + VAT
* These bands are provided as a guideline. Final annual membership fee is assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account turnover, employee numbers, and other relevant factors.

The Action Track is your opportunity to join our in-person workshops alongside a cohort of sustainability-conscious businesses for networking and peer-to-peer learning, as we guide you through the process of assessing your organisation’s nature-related DIROs – Dependencies, Impacts, Risks and Opportunities.

We will help you to conduct a high-level materiality assessment to prioritise your efforts and align your nature ambition with your climate and social goals by understanding these nature-related impacts and dependencies in both your operations and your value chain.

You will gain access to one-to-one guidance chats with our experts, plus a series of webinars covering the basics of biodiversity for business, open to all your employees to ensure there is a company-wide understanding of the issues.

  • The key output of the Action Track is a Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) for your business (and it’s the key to progressing to the Track 3: Strategy.) Action Track workshops are delivered in collaboration with Deloitte WorldClimate.

    Once you’ve unlocked the door with your Double Materiality Assessment, the Strategy Track awaits. A series of in-person workshops, delivered in collaboration with KPMG Ireland Sustainable Futures, alongside a cohort of leading, like-minded businesses at a similar stage in their journey, enable learning from each other to build and define your organisation’s nature ambition statement.

    You will continue to access our one-to-one expert guidance as well as a series of webinars covering the basics of biodiversity for business, which are open to all employees to enable a company-wide understanding of biodiversity-related issues for your business.

    • Key output: You’ll create a strong, credible nature strategy for your organisation and set science-based targets to deliver positive outcomes for people, planet and nature.

    Transformation is here – The Evolution Track.

    You’ve released a strong Nature Strategy and laid a solid foundation for your business, but how do you intend to deliver on your strategic objectives?

    Developing a clear implementation plan with ways to measure, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of your actions for nature is critical. The Evolution Track, supported by the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine and the National Parks & Wildlife Service – will support you in honing your implementation plan while staying ahead of evolving reporting requirements.

    The Nature Strategy Accelerator Programme is an iterative process – since your business, our environment and the best-practice science-based guidance and regulations continue to evolve, so will your business’s work with us. We welcome your feedback and collaboration on how we can continue to work together to advance policy and best practice within your sector to make Ireland a leader in the transition to a Nature-Positive economy.
