The aims of the pilot programme are
- To assess the available frameworks, methods and tools to help Irish businesses understand their impacts and dependencies on nature and biodiversity
- To help business understand what is happening within their value chain
- To assist with the creation and implementation of meaningful biodiversity strategies
- To support businesses in applying appropriate tools and methods
- To help business learn and understand about improving transparency, reporting and disclosure
- To create a sector/industry best practice guidelines (BPGs) for Ireland and to contribute to the development of global standards for business
- To help business incorporate nature into their decision-making and act to preserve and protect nature both locally and globally
- To explore the feasibility of the Business Biodiversity Score
