Susan Rossney

Chair

BFBI Chairperson Susan Rossney is Sustainability Advocacy Manager with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland where she leads on sustainability for Advocacy & Voice Department. Susan is a Sustainability Leader and Project Manager with 20+ years’ experience building networks and delivering projects. Susan is a also a taskforce member and former Chair of the Chartered Accountants Worldwide Sustainability Taskforce.

Lisa Davidson

Secretary

Lisa is an accomplished finance professional combining extensive banking experience with novel academic research. She worked for a decade in the banking sector, specializing in Risk Management capital modelling, including establishment of robust governance frameworks, navigating the complex regulatory landscapes that govern dual jurisdictions, and ensuring compliance and optimization of risk management strategies. She has a passion for Sustainable Finance ultimately motivated her to pursue doctoral research focused on Sustainable Finance, Banking Regulation, and the dynamics of green financial flows.

Prof. Jane Stout

Jane Stout is the Vice President for Biodiversity and Climate Action and Professor of Ecology, School of Natural Sciences, at Trinity College Dublin and leading Irish ecologist. Expertise in biodiversity and ecosystem services, natural capital, pollination ecology and bees. Co-founder and former Chair of the Board of Directors, Natural Capital Ireland, co-lead of Nature+, co-founder and deputy chair of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan and co-founder of Business for Biodiversity Ireland.

Edward Pollard

Edward is a world leading expert in business and biodiversity. He has over 30 year’s experience of biodiversity conservation globally, including 15 years in Southeast Asia working on forest conservation initiatives. In 13 years at The Biodiversity Consultancy, Edward supported many of the world’s largest companies to understand their impacts and dependencies on nature and develop strategies to mitigate them. His experience covers site-based work with extractives, agriculture, renewables and other sectors across six continents. Edward has more recently collaborated with companies developing nature strategies and aiming to align with emerging frameworks including the Science-based Targets Network, and Taskforce on Nature Related Disclosure. Edward helped set up, and is a Director of the UK Business & Biodiversity Forum. In his free time he volunteers with conservation initiatives around Cambridge, and is the Cambridgeshire country butterfly recorder.

Dr. Kirstie McAdoo

Kirstie McAdoo is the former Director of Education and Research at Airfield Estate where she was a member of the Senior Leadership team responsible for the establishment of a novel research strategy and program. Currently an Assistant Professor in the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sport Science, Kirstie has strong academic and working knowledge of agricultural systems and their role within climate change.

Dr. Catherine Farrell

Catherine Farrell is an Ecologist and Senior Research Fellow in the School of Natural Sciences and Adjunct Teaching Fellow at Trinity Business School. A pioneer of nature restoration & research in Ireland and internationally, Catherine is an expert on ecosystem accounting and also works with the National Bioeconomy Research Centre, focusing on developing mechanisms to structure, finance, monitor and communicate direct impacts and broader societal benefits of nature restoration
